Actually the theory of “I can’t pronounce it so it must be bad” is completely untrue. Have you ever noticed a skin care or a hair care product will say vitamin E (or other vitamins) on the front but it won’t say it when you look at the ingredients. That’s because the companies have to put the actual name of the vitamin. For example vitamin e is (alpha, beta, gamma etc.)-tocopherol. It’s a big myth and people just need to learn how to do research.

bare minerals and mineral foundation was what caused me to break out with severe acne since 10th grade. It wasn’t because of puberty either because I only had very very few spots (like 3 every fortnight) before that. I have had to consult my dermatologist to lessen the severity of my acne to a certain degree. He said that after 19 it should go away because of puberty. I’m turning 21 this year and my skin is still bad and I have enlarged pores from the mineral foundation.

The only thing that … I dont know … pisses me off is what they said about the dryshampoo that it saves resoures compared to showering! Has this guy ever heard of something called the ecological footprint … well the dryshampoo does not save water as the process to make this product uses alot more water than if someone was actually going to shower!!!!

The whole thing about “if you cannot pronounce the product it is not good for you” is not necessarily true. My dad is a chemist and I always get him to look at the ingredients on any makeup I buy to check if there’s any bad chemicals in it. For example, a lot of MAC and Coastal Scents products use ingredients that I “find hard to pronounce,” but my dad says that the highest percentage of the makeup is stuff that is harmless (otherwise it would not be approved for sale).

A lot of what you recommended are products that use ‘green washing’- a method where a product says it’s natural/organic when in reality it’s not even close. The trick is to read the ingredient lists for true products that are better for you, like: Lily Lilo, Alima Pure, RMS Beauty, Dr. Alkaitis, and Intelligent Nutrients. BTW, Bare Minerals is notonot ideal for sensitive/acne prone skin because it contains harsh fillers like Bismuth Oxide and talc (known skin irritants).

If there is something that is not good, then it would be in such a small amount that it would not hurt you unless you kept that makeup on for a week or something.

totally agree with you ! i don’t understand abt the dry shampoo part…think abt all the chemicals used to create the dry shampoo ! I rather just use water and a few quick spurts of organic shampoo to clean my hair!

You are bang on target with the mineral makeup… I tried it after all the hype, it made my not-sensitive skin itch and break out!! Also Dr.Oz said its dangerous for your lungs since its so fine.

I wish the comments were disabled, like real television. The WORST part of the videos are the comments by ignorant people. Just enjoy that someone is bringing something cool to the web. If you want REAL TV…pay your cable bill and pipe down!
